Why I made it

I loved Hidden Bar, a free app that hid the menu bar icons I didn’t need and brought them back with a click. On macOS 27, its App Store version no longer hides anything. So I built a replacement.

Why it won’t be released

macOS 27 limits how wide a menu bar item can be. On my wide displays, which have no notch, that leaves Menu Maid no room to hide icons, and the only known way around it uses tools the App Store doesn’t allow.

It works on my MacBook. On the wide displays, it stays out of the way.
