  1. Stacks finds the photos that look alike and keeps them together.

  2. Swipe to keep the good ones and delete the rest.

  3. The best photo always goes on top.

  4. The photos you keep become one burst that takes up a single spot in your library.

Clean up after yourself.

Clean Up puts screenshots, blurry photos and duplicates in piles you can clear in a few taps.

  1. Screenshots sorted by app, like Messages, Social and Web.

  2. Sort a pile as fast as you can swipe.

  3. Blurry photos you’d never keep, found for you.

  4. Clear a whole pile at once.

Knows a good photo when it sees one.

Stacks adds its own layer to the image analysis built into iPhone. Stacks scores the photos in a moment to find open eyes, smiles, a sharp subject and the clearest copy of a document. Everything runs on your iPhone.

Raises the score

  • Smiles
  • Faces turned toward you
  • A cat or dog looking at the camera
  • Readable text on a document

Lowers the score

  • Closed eyes
  • Blur on the subject
  • Haze or smudges
  • A duplicate of another photo
What Stacks Sees for a group photo: each face outlined, with 4 people, eyes open, everyone facing the camera and 4 of 4 smiling.

You decide what’s deleted.

  • Your photos are copied into one stack

Each copy keeps its date, place, favorite, caption and albums.

  • Cover photo goes on top

  • Unstack anytime

    The photos become separate again.

  • iOS asks before deleting

iOS removes only the separate photos, which are already in the stack. Deleted photos stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days.

The How Stacking Works page, shown before a first stack. It shows a moment’s photos becoming one stack, then four points: your photos are copied into one stack, the cover photo goes on top, unstack anytime, and tap Delete when iOS asks. A Continue button is at the bottom.
